OUR STORY

In the Picture Palace, Okehampton's Edwardian cinema.

Jo and Dermot Seale opened Toast inside Okehampton's 1915 Edwardian cinema. First it was 'The Picture Palace', then the 'Premier Cinema', then a supermarket, then Nero's nightclub. Today it's a light-filled coffee house, deli, and upstairs events space — a new chapter in the same cavernous room.

We pour Origin. Roasted in Porthleven.

We serve Origin Coffee Roasters — a specialty roaster based on the Cornish coast at Porthleven. Espresso, flat white, latte, cappuccino, filter. Dairy alternatives available.

What's on the Menu

From artisan sourdough sandwiches to homemade cakes and Origin Coffee — everything is prepared fresh with locally sourced ingredients.

Food served until 3pm (café open until 4pm, Mon–Sat). See the board by the counter for today's specials, Open Sourdough, and salad option. Vegan dairy-free spread is available on any toasted or buttered item — just ask. Toast gift vouchers are available in-store — ask at the counter for any amount. Allergens — please let staff know before ordering. V = vegetarian · VG = vegan · GF = gluten-free.
